I am actually a converted Muslim and a blogger who classifies articles that I found on various sites and that I find interesting concerning Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Somalia, the Philippines, the Caucasus, Thailand, Kashmir and other locations. A memory aid that makes my life easier and at the same time I share this to those who have the same interests as me. I am also a freelance journalist (unpaid since the salary comes from Allah), an investigative journalist on child porn networks in cases such as the Zandvoort files, the Koala Case, the Pinon Case, the CORAL case, the case of a juvenile court judge exposed with an 11 year old autistic boy, the CRIES network, the Case 'Spartacus' and the X Witnesses in Belgium, but also a researcher and analyst on modern state terrorism (the secret NATO operation 'Gladio', the danger of vaccines, CHEMTRIALS in the air, the danger of the new bulbs, aspartame, false flag attacks, a specialist in intelligence and strategic communications. The right for free information, freedom of expression, religion and freedom of literary criticism and the diversity of opinions are a fundamental freedom and a basic right for every human being.There's 2 sides to every coin...so bought sides have the right to express their views concerning the wars. Les images et vidéos contredisent toutes versions officielles. Ceci n'est pas de la propagande Islamique. Ceci n'est pas un appel au JIHAD. Il s'agit de se demander pourquoi il y a des guerres injustes sur terre ? Et Censored31 apporte les réponses essentielles. Ce n'est donc pas l'apologie pour le terrorisme, un mot qui fait d'ailleurs tout avaler sans broncher, un mot qui fait tout voter, même le massacre de millions d'enfants, hommes et femmes libre. More Blackwater terrorist contractors than cops in Pakistan's capital

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- There are more private security contractors from Xe, formerly Blackwater, operating in Islamabad than capital police, a religious leader said.
Maulana Fazal-ur-Rahman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, a Deobandi political party in Pakistan, said there were as many as 9,000 Xe contractors working in Islamabad, compared with just 7,000 capital police, Pakistan's News International reports.
The Pakistani Taliban last week said attacks in the Lower Dir District of Pakistan's North-West Frontier province killed U.S. personnel, claiming the attack was an act of revenge against Xe contractors operating in the region.
Richard Holbrooke, the U.S. special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, confirmed the deaths were U.S. military personnel but described the Taliban claims as propaganda.
Their deaths are the first known U.S. military fatalities in Pakistan.
Fazal blamed foreign contractors for instability in the country, saying they undermined an already weak democratic government. He equated Xe contractors with the insurgent Taliban.
Washington linked stability in Pakistan to the success of its counterinsurgency battle in neighboring Afghanistan, encouraging Islamabad to step up domestic security measures. Pakistan in October launched its own offensive in the volatile tribal regions near the Afghan border.
Fazal during a weekend meeting with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said an immediate halt to military activity in the tribal areas would bring normalcy to the region.

Sweden's military says the gunman who killed two Swedish officers and their local interpreter in northern Afghanistan over the weekend was wearing a police uniform.
The military says the shooter opened fire as a Swedish patrol visited a police station near the village of Gurgi Tappeh, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) west of the Swedish base in Mazar-e-Sharif. Military spokesman Gustaf Wallerfeldt said Monday it's still unclear whether the gunman was a police officer or an impostor dressed in a police uniform. The gunman was shot and killed in the ensuing shootout. The Swedish officers were identified as 28-year-old Capt. Johan Palmlov and 31-year-old Lt. Gunnar Andersson, both from Stockholm. Another Swedish soldier was lightly wounded in the attack.
The Islamic administration of Al-Shabaab that controls Somalia’s southern regions of Jubba has on Sunday declared holy war on Kenya over reports that Nairobi is training Somali troops.
Sheikh Hussen Abdi Gedi, Al-Shabaab’s second in command in the southern port city of Kismayo said his group has received reports of planned offensives from the Kenyan side, urging the regions’ residents to prepare for holy war.
“Kenya has prepared troops that comprise of Kenyans and Somalis, who are trained to attack and take over the regions. They are planning to attack us on the land, sea and air. We are urging people to be ready and defend our land,” he told Al-Shabaab’s Andalus radio on Sunday.
His sentiments come as Kismayo, the lucrative southern Somali port city that fuels insurgent activities across the war-torn country, witnesses a low flying military planes which raised high tension.
The border between the two countries has also seen the enormous presence of Kenyan troops, who are patrolling with the battle wagons.
It is the first time that the rebel group has declared jihad against Kenya since capturing the bordering region.
However, Kenya denied reports of its involvement in the training of Somali soldiers, saying it has nothing to do with the Somali issues.
Sources quoted by Garowe Online said Nairobi trained in its soil some 2,500 troops, who are ready to join the Somali government’s offensive against Al Shabaab rebels.
An American soldier ‘waterboarded his 4 year daughter’
A soldier waterboarded his four-year-old daughter because she was unable to recite her alphabet. Joshua Tabor admitted to police he had used the CIA torture technique because he was so angry. As his daughter ’squirmed’ to get away, Tabor said he submerged her face three or four times until the water was lapping around her forehead and jawline. Tabor, 27, who had won custody of his daughter only four weeks earlier, admitted choosing the punishment because the girl was terrified of water. The practice of waterboarding was used by the CIA to break Al Qaeda suspects at Guantanamo Bay. Detainees had water poured over their face until they feared they would drown. President Barack Obama has since outlawed the practice.
Tabor, a soldier at the Lewis-McChord base in Tacoma, Washington, was arrested after being seen walking around his neighbourhood wearing a Kevlar military helmet and threatening to break windows. Police discovered the alleged waterboarding when they went to his home in the Tacoma suburb of Yelm and spoke to his girlfriend. She told them about the alleged torture and the terrified girl was found hiding in a closet, with bruising on her back and scratch marks on her neck and throat. Asked how she got the bruises, the girl is said to have replied: ‘Daddy did it.’ During a police interview Tabor allegedly admitted grabbing his daughter, placing her on the kitchen counter and submerging her face into a bowl of water. Sergeant Rob Carlson said the punishment was carried out because the girl would not recite the alphabet. Police have not revealed Tabor’s military service, but his base is home to units that have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The girl has been taken into care. Her natural mother lives in Kansas but Tabor had been granted custody by a court

15 American invading terrorists killed, 14 injure in Helmand A roadside bomb targeted a U.S. invaders patrol tank in Helmand's Nad Ali district while the US terrorists were on a patrol mission on the road between Shawl and Mataki areas of this district, on Sunday evening. The tank was destroyed in the bombing, killing all the American invading terrorists who were inside.
Likewise, Monday's bombings killed five U.S. invading terrorists and wounded seven in Nad Ali district of this province. U.S. invaders military convoy attacked in Marja Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate on Saturday morning carried out a missile attack on a U.S. invaders military convoy in Dasht area of Marja district in Helmand province. Very timely, swift and coordinated avalanche killing 17 Indian terrorists.
SRINAGAR, India – A massive avalanche plowed into an Indian army training center at a ski resort town in Indian-controlled Kashmir on Monday, killing 17 soldiers and critically injuring 17 others.
The avalanche slammed into the army's High Altitude Warfare School at about 11 a.m. and swept away the soldiers during a training session, said army spokesman Col. Vineet Sood. It was the worst avalanche in the area in many years, he said.
Seventeen bodies were found and 53 troops were rescued about six hours after the speeding mass of snow and ice struck the center high on a Himalayan slope, senior police officer Qayoom Manhas told The Associated Press. Many more are still missing.
Manhas said of those rescued, 17 needed emergency medical care.
About 70 troops were taking a skiing test when the avalanche came crashing down, he said.
Rescue efforts involving army, police and civilian officials were "very timely, swift and coordinated," Manhas said.
The accident occurred near Gulmarg, a ski resort about 30 miles (50 kilometers) northwest of Srinagar, the main city in Indian Kashmir, said Sood.
About 400 people, including 30 civilian workers, were at the training center, but the avalanche hit only one portion of the facility.
Incessant snow and rain complicated rescue operations.
G.M. Dar, a tourist official in the area, told the AP about 400 tourists skiing in Gulmarg were safe.
Frequent rain and heavy snowfall often trigger avalanches and landslides in Kashmir, blocking roads and cutting off tourist resorts like Gulmarg. Gulmarg is also close to the Line of Control, a highly militarized cease-fire line dividing the Himalayan region of Kashmir between India and Pakistan.
The claim over Kashmir has caused two wars between the archrivals since they became independent from Britain in 1947. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers are posted along either side of the Line of Control.
Last year in April, an avalanche hit an Indian army post in a separate region close to the de-facto border with Pakistan, killing seven soldiers and injuring at least eight others.

Ali Dere), the spokesman of Harakat Al-shabab Mujahideen who was present at Gulwadayasha building, the area where both the officer and weapon formally displayed today said that more than 50 soldier from the transitional government from their military positions joined them adding that they had welcomed them greatly and dealt with them with good manner.
The spokesman said the performed officer was called Bashi Ahmed who he said that he was member of the former national forces of Somali government in the are of ousted president Mohamed Siad Barre, but was current serving as transitional federal government officer in the capital.
He said that he was one of the troops in Na’na’a factory, a base for the transitional government of Somalia in south of Mogadishu.
Bashi Ahmed who also talked to the journalists said that he was trained in Djibouti adding that the authorities of the transitional government did not give any rights to its troops asserting that he decided to leave his colleague and joined to Harakat Al-shabab Mujahideen.
Sheik Ali Mohamuded Rage said that Mr. Ahmed understood more about the decisive actions of the TFG calling for the others soldiers to leave from the government and join them pointing out that the government and AMISOM were those who often plan to deceive the Somalia people.
The officials also displayed 50 AK-47, mostly automatic hand guns used saying that 50 other government troops from the transitional government with the weapon had joined the Islamist fighters of Harakat Al-shabab Mujahideen urging the fighters to redouble their fighting against the allied troops of the government and AMSIOM stressing that they would once be out of the country
Surprising: Islam Insulted, Muslim converts in Denmark increased instead
The attention on Islam in Denmark, the country that triggered the reactions of the millions of Muslim all over the world, keeps on increasing. This has been ongoing following the publications of the controversial cartoons in 2005. Based on the study conducted by the University of Copenhagen, it was found that with the occurrence of that incident there exists a surprising new phenomenon where quite a large number of people who are natives of Denmark precisely embraced Islam. After the incident of insulting cartoons targeting the Prophet SAW, some experts viewed that the anti-Islam actions taken up in the West has, on the contrary, caused a huge interest on the society in the religion of Islam, not distancing them from the religion Islam like what the West intended, instead it increased their love for the religion of Islam.
In connection with this, the University of Copenhagen made a report which has 69 pages, explaining the result of their study that what those experts were telling was true. The report has been submitted to the government offices while its contents have not been revealed to the press. Only that, some politicians judged that the Danish people who converted to Islam were those who were stressed and frustrated. These were some of the information's that they talked about. The University of Copenhagen initiated their study following the controversy that happened last year regarding the prohibition of veils in Denmark. The spokesman of the Conservative Party, proclaimed the importance of the prohibition of veils worn by some Muslim women. This issue kept on brewing for quite some time, that it eventually caused the Chairman of the Liberal Party, Lars Luka Rasmussen and the Chairman of the Conservative Party, Lenny Ospercyn held an emergency meeting concerning this problem. This study had also received a lot inputs from various medias in Denmark, especially some national newspapers in Denmark, which used a number of pages for the news related to this issue, and the largest of them was the Jilan Posten, the newspaper that in 2005 published the cartoon insulting Prophet Muhammad SAW.

Israeli hypocrisy would be comical, if its consequences weren’t so tragic. These days, Israeli media and Israel’s powerful friends in the media in the United States have been tom-tomming about the noble help and rescue mission Israelis have undertaken in the remote, quake-hit island of Haiti.
Doubtless, the catastrophe that has hit Haiti is truly mind-boggling and terrifying. The all-round devastation the island has suffered is beyond words. This is perhaps how our world would look like when the End comes. And one hates to make a political point out of this terrible, terrible human tragedy. But you can’t help it when you come across the kind of hypocrisy that Israel displays in Haiti.
While the people it has locked away in their homes in Gaza and across the Palestinian territories live in most despicable conditions and crave the basics such as food, water, electricity and just about everything else, the magnanimous Israel is sending aid and medical teams to help the luckless people of Haiti.
Can there be a more stunning example of hypocrisy and double standards?
I am not even remotely suggesting that Israel shouldn’t act to help the calamity-hit people of Haiti. In fact, given the magnitude of the tragedy, every one of us should do his or her bit for the unfortunate people.
Lest the U.S. media preoccupied with Israel have failed to notice, Arab and Muslim countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Qatar, Iran, Kuwait, Morocco and many others, have also reached out to Haiti, sending much-needed aid soon after the earthquake last month. Despite its tiny size, the U.A.E. has been quick to act through the Red Crescent and even independently, just as it always has in the past.
But you don’t get to hear about them on Fox News or CNN because Arab countries are not crowing about their actions. Perhaps, it’s time they should. In any case, when it comes to fighting a propaganda war and handling the media, Arab and Muslim countries have never been a match for Israel and its many lobbies and think tanks.
Just Google and see how bloggers are praising Israel for its mission in Haiti even as they blast the oil-rich Arab and Muslim countries for not giving a damn or a dime for the needy in Haiti.
This, despite the plane-loads of relief and aid supplies Muslim countries have sent. This is just one instance of how shockingly ill-equipped Arab and Muslim countries are for the modern warfare of the media and the diplomatic battles for hearts and minds.
But this is not about what the Arab and Muslim world is doing in Haiti. This is about the ludicrous double standards of the state that claims to be the only "democracy and civilized society" in the Middle East.
If the Israelis have reached out to the Haiti tragedy by swiftly dispatching a medical team, it’s laudable. But why the gentile Jews who were moved by a tragedy on the other side of the world cannot see what’s been happening right under their noses for years beats me.
It’s indeed good to see that Israelis are after all human and can be moved by human suffering. But I wonder why the same Israeli hearts run dry of the milk of human kindness when it comes to Palestinians.
Help for the helpless Haitians is welcome but what about those languishing in Gaza? As Israeli writer Akiva Eldar argues in a courageous piece in Haaretz, "The remarkable identification with the victims of the terrible tragedy in distant Haiti only underscores the indifference to the ongoing suffering of the people of Gaza. Only a little more than an hour’s drive from the offices of Israel’s major newspapers, 1.5 million people have been besieged on a desert island for two and a half years. Who cares that 80 per cent of the men, women and children living in such proximity to us have fallen under the poverty line? How many Israelis know that half of all Gazans are dependent on charity, that Operation Cast Lead created hundreds of amputees, that raw sewage flows from the streets into the sea?"
Why aren’t there more voices like that of Eldar from within Israeli society against the victimization and persecution of Palestinians? Why don’t more Israeli journalists and commentators protest against the inhuman treatment of Palestinians, whose only crime is that they were born at the wrong time in the wrong country? They are as guilty as the Jews had been seven decades ago when the Nazis sent them to their death. Why can’t yesterday’s victims see the tragic irony and incongruity of their actions against today’s victims?
As Eldar has the moral courage to point out, if Haiti is a natural disaster, "The one in Gaza is the un-proud handiwork of man. Our handiwork!"
Israeli media is full of heart-warming, feel-good stories about the brave Israeli Defense Forces, or IDF, soldiers and medical teams saving lives and rescuing babies on the Caribbean island. But how many Israelis care about the babies and infants dying for lack of critical food and medicines in Palestinian territories under their occupation? How many care about pregnant women, critically injured men dying after endlessly waiting at Israeli checkpoints?
The Israeli concern for people in the devastated Haiti is very touching. But how many Israelis care two hoots about the thousands of Palestinian families living in open, in the ruins of their former homes?
Israel’s bombing blitz on Gaza last year destroyed 60,000 homes, 3,500 of which were totally turned into rubble. More than 1,500 people, nearly half of them women and children, were killed in the war that started the day after Christmas in the land that gave birth to Christ.
And much of the surviving population in the limbo that is Gaza cannot go back to living, nor can it rebuild its homes and demolished city. The Israeli blockade of the Strip means nothing, including construction material and the promised aid by the international community, can get into Gaza.
Isn’t this a mockery of humanity and the so-called international community that while this population languishes under a lockdown in the largest prison on the planet, Israel sends food and medicines to the people on the other side of the world? Can there be a more breathtaking example of injustice? As Akiva Eldar says, "the images of Israeli doctors (helping) in Haiti cannot blur Israel’s ugly face" in Gaza and elsewhere in Palestine.
When will the world break its silence to end this charade in the Holy Land? When will the world act to stop Israel’s oppression? How long will the poor Palestinians have to carry this heavy cross that the West has forced on them? Any answers, Mr. Barack Obama? Any clue, Mr. Ban Ki-moon?

The Yemeni archipelago of Socotra in the Indian Ocean is located some 80 kilometres off the Horn of Africa and 380 kilometres South of the Yemeni coastline. The islands of Socotra are a wildlife reserve recognized by (UNESCO), as a World Natural Heritage Site.
Socotra is at the crossroads of the strategic naval waterways of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden (See map below). It is of crucial importance to the US military.
Among Washington's strategic objectives is the militarization of major sea ways. This strategic waterway links the Mediterranean to South Asia and the Far East, through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
It is a major transit route for oil tankers. A large share of China's industrial exports to Western Europe transits through this strategic waterway. Maritime trade from East and Southern Africa to Western Europe also transits within proximity of Socotra (Suqutra), through the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. (see map below). A military base in Socotra could be used to oversee the movement of vessels including war ships in an out of the Gulf of Aden.
Sea Power
From a military standpoint, the Socotra archipelago is at a strategic maritime crossroads. Morever, the archipelago extends over a relatively large maritime area at the Eastern exit of the Gulf of Aden, extending from Abd al Kuri, to the main island of Socotra. This maritime area of international transit lies in Yemeni territorial waters. (See map).
Socotra is some 3000 km from the US naval base of Diego Garcia, which is among America's largest overseas military facilities.
The Socotra Military Base
On January 2nd, 2010, President Saleh and General David Petraeus, Commander of the US Central Command met for high level discussions behind closed doors.
The Saleh-Petraeus meeting was casually presented by the media as a timely response to the foiled Detroit Christmas bomb attack on Northwest flight 253. It had apparently been scheduled on an ad hoc basis as a means to coordinating counter-terrorism initiatives directed against "Al Qaeda in Yemen", including "the use [of] American drones and missiles on Yemen lands."
Several reports, however, confirmed that the Saleh-Petraeus meetings were intent upon redefining US military involvement in Yemen including the establishment of a full-fledged military base on the island of Socotra. Yemen's president Ali Abdullah Saleh was reported to have "surrendered Socotra for Americans who would set up a military base, pointing out that U.S. officials and the Yemeni government agreed to set up a military base in Socotra to counter pirates and al-Qaeda." (Fars News. January 19, 2010)
On January 1st, one day before the Saleh-Petraeus meetings in Sanaa, General Petraeus confirmed in a Baghdad press conference that "security assistance" to Yemen would more than double from 70 million to more than 150 million dollars, which represents a 14 fold increase since 2006. (Scramble for the Island of Bliss: Socotra!, War in Iraq, January 12, 2010. See also CNN January 9, 2010, The Guardian, December 28, 2009).
This doubling of military aid to Yemen was presented to World public opinion as a response to the Detroit bomb incident, which allegedly had been ordered by Al Qaeda operatives in Yemen.
The establishment of an air force base on the island of Socotra was described by the US media as part of the "Global war on Terrorism":
"Among the new programs, Saleh and Petraeus agreed to allow the use of American aircraft, perhaps drones, as well as "seaborne missiles"--as long as the operations have prior approval from the Yemenis, according to a senior Yemeni official who requested anonymity when speaking about sensitive subjects. U.S. officials say the island of Socotra, 200 miles off the Yemeni coast, will be beefed up from a small airstrip [under the jurisdiction of the Yemeni military] to a full base in order to support the larger aid program as well as battle Somali pirates. Petraeus is also trying to provide the Yemeni forces with basic equipment such as up-armored Humvees and possibly more helicopters." (Newsweek, Newsweek, January 18, 2010, emphasis added)
Existing runway and airport
US Naval Facility?
The proposed US Socotra military facility, however, is not limited to an air force base. A US naval base has also been contemplated.
The development of Socotra's naval infrastructure was already in the pipeline. Barely a few days prior (December 29, 2009) to the Petraeus-Saleh discussions (January 2, 2010), the Yemeni cabinet approved a US$14 million loan by Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in support of the development of Socotra's seaport project.
The Great Game
The Socotra archipelago is part of the Great Game opposing Russia and America.
During the Cold War, the Soviet Union had a military presence in Socotra, which at the time was part of South Yemen.
Barely a year ago, the Russians entered into renewed discussions with the Yemeni government regarding the establishment of a Naval base on Socotra island. A year later, in January 2010, in the week following the Petraeus-Saleh meeting, a Russian Navy communiqué "confirmed that Russia did not give up its plans to have bases for its ships... on Socotra island." (DEFENSE and SECURITY (Russia), January 25, 2010)
The Petraeus-Saleh January 2, 2010 discussions were crucial in weakening Russian diplomatic overtures to the Yemeni government.
The US military has had its eye on the island of Socotra since the end of the Cold War.
In 1999, Socotra was chosen "as a site upon which the United States planned to build a signal intelligence system...." Yemeni opposition news media reported that "Yemen's administration had agreed to allow the U.S. military access to both a port and an airport on Socotra." according to the opposition daily Al-Haq, "a new civilian airport built on Socotra to promote tourism had conveniently been constructed in accordance with U.S. military specifications." The Militarization of the Indian Ocean
The establishment of a US military base in Socotra is part of the broader process of militarization of the Indian Ocean. The latter consists in integrating and linking Socotra into an existing structure as well as reinforcing the key role played by the Diego Garcia military base in the Chagos archipelago.
The US Navy's geostrategist Rear Admiral Alfred T. Mahan had intimated, prior to World War, that "whoever attains maritime supremacy in the Indian Ocean would be a prominent player on the international scene." (Indian Ocean and our Security).
What was at stake in Mahon's writings was the strategic control by the US of major Ocean sea ways.

Grave concerns over presence of Blackwater in Pakistan by Asif Haroon Raja

A private and secretive outfit named Blackwater under Erik Prince propped up in North Carolina in mid 1990s with its HQ spread over 7000 acres of land.
It trains tens of thousands of law enforcement officials a year from the US and other nations. It has grown into a private army and has become so powerful that it can topple a government. It has over 2300 soldiers deployed in nine countries. It maintains a data base of 21000 Special Forces troops and retired police for its use.
Jeremy Scahill revealed in his book "Rise of the world’s most powerful mercenary army", that Pentagon has made private contractors an integral part of operations. Infamous private security firm Blackwater had been put to use in Iraq as hired killers. Largest ever private contractors totalling 100,000 were employed having a ratio of 1:1 to American soldiers. Paul Bremer initially used security guards of this private firm for his personal protection and subsequently expanded its role to avoid US casualties. It changed its name to Xe Worldwide or Xe Services after earning bad name in Iraq where it was extensively employed by US military.
This role is now being performed in Afghanistan particularly after US war casualties started to rise in 2009. Most of clandestine work in Afghanistan is being done by Blackwater. Reportedly, Blackwater/Xe in Afghanistan is training and equipping Afghan troops who then fire on US soldiers during joint operations. Two such incidents took place in 2009 and this practice is aimed at justifying troop surge.
Gordon Duff, a senior editor of Veterans Today has disclosed that the CIA has outsourced its most secret projects to Blackwater, a mercenary group with worst reputation of any firm the US has ever done business with. It plans and executes terrorist acts against civilian targets, military installations, intelligence agencies and resorts to target killings. It maintains contacts with terrorist leaders and organizes revolutionary groups. Disregarding US laws, CIA has expanded the role of private contractors including Blackwater like raids, operations in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Somalia and now in Yemen. This was disclosed by four former US military and intelligence officers to ABL News.
There is mounting evidence that Pentagon and CIA are engaged in a war against Pakistan population involving death squads, disappearances and torture. These infamous practices were employed in Vietnam and Al Salvador. One of the chief executives of Blackwater Robert Richer was head of CIA’s Near East and South Asia from1999 to 2004 and ran clandestine operations throughout Middle East and South Asia. Gen Petraeus in August 2009 announced plans to launch an intelligence training centre in coordination with others to train military officers, covert agents and analysts who agree to focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan for up to a decade. In the same month, it was announced that Pentagon was reassigning its 3rd Special Forces Group presently deployed in Africa and Caribbean to focus on Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The CIA also uses credentialed journalists to engage in counter-intelligence. Individuals working as subcontractors to CIA have links to Blackwater CIA-approved operations in targeted countries of the region. Blackwater comes in the guise of contractors, investors, business partners and economic advisers. According to Tim Shorrock, Washington obtained $42 billion annually on private intelligence contractors, up from $17.5 in 2000. It implies 70% intelligence budget going to private companies. Private contractors have been involved in Guantanamo Bay, Bagram and Abu Garib prisons. Blackwater not only serves CIA but also private interests for money. Blackwater elements used extensively by CIA and US military to minimize hazards of combat to US troops have come under intense censure and scrutiny in Iraq and Pakistan due to which their liberty of action has curtailed.
Controversial Blackwater firm which is an extension of US military and CIA is associated with Christian rights and is anti-Islam. Its head Eric Prince is right wing Christian. He has been engaged in uniting conservative Catholics, evangelicals, and neoconservatives in a common Theo-conservative holy war to eliminate Muslims and Islam globally. Blackwater acts as the armed wing of the movement. Blackwater is reportedly running a covert recruitment drive through its website in Pakistan; www.blackwaterUSA.com. It can only be accessed through four company executives’ references. It seeks candidates who can speak Punjabi and Urdu. $ one billion has been allocated for Blackwater which is above law and accountability. Not even home country law is applicable to this outfit. Not a single private contractor involved in gruesome murders has been prosecuted.
Presence of elements of notorious Blackwater in Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta and now in Karachi has created ripples in Pakistan and has become a cause of serious concern for all Pakistanis. In Peshawar, they are operating from office of CA11 on Chinar Road, University Town. In-charge of this set up Craig Davis was caught red handed in Peshawar indulging in objectionable activities and having links with Afghanistan. He was identified as an operative of Creative Associates International Inc; a Washington based US firm, one of the wings of Blackwater. Craig was arrested and deported to USA. He and several other deported persons were returned to Pakistan after receiving visas from Pak Embassy in Washington and security cleared by interior ministry and Craig resumed his official activities. Ambassador Hussain Haqqani issued 360 visas to American nationals in one month without consulting Islamabad. This dangerous practice would have continued had the ISI not put its foot down. Consequent to this setback, this suspicious company changed its name and shifted to Karachi.
Several incidents of Americans carrying prohibited bore weapons and grenades roaming the streets of Islamabad during ungodly hours took place. Two incidents happened in Lahore and five Americans were caught under suspicious conditions from Sargodha. Glen Greinwad disclosed that there is ample evidence that the US pays a number of groups within Iran to commit acts of terrorism. If so, there is likelihood that CIA must be indulging in such like activities in Pakistan as well. Blackwater has been actively involved in assassinating pro-government Maliks, clerics and notables in FATA, religious scholars in NWFP, political figures, and target killings in Quetta and in Karachi and in drone attacks. It had a role in organised terrorist attacks against military and police targets in Lahore and Rawalpindi. It provides surveillance and support to terrorist groups such as BLA and BRA in Balochistan and FATA and Swat.
Reportedly, the US has purchased 16 acres land from CDA in Islamabad. Over $ 1 billion has been earmarked for the expansion of US Embassy in Islamabad, part of which would stretch up to PM Secretariat and Presidency. Offices of Marines, Blackwater security consultants along with residences will be constructed. The new Embassy would be designed to make it bomb proof and to be able to eavesdrop all our high powered secret meetings taking place in parliament, Presidency and PM Secretariat. Rumors are afloat that 1000 to 7000 US Marines together with APCs are planned to be stationed within the confines of new embassy in Islamabad with licence to move about anywhere in Pakistan. 400 houses have been hired in Islamabad by US Embassy.
The intended expanded US Embassy in Islamabad will be the largest in the world. $ 115 million have been earmarked for it and made part of Kerry-Lugar Bill (KLB) package for Pakistan. It includes $5 million for Marines quarters, $53.5 million for housing infrastructure; $18 million for general services and office area; $36 million for temporary duty quarters and community staff facilities. All told $4 billion will be required for the ambitious project. $800 million had been allocated for the protection of enlarged and fortified Embassy through private security contractor DynCorp.
Some say it is being made into a military base while others say a cantonment is being built. Expansion of US Embassy in Islamabad is being justified under the plea that greater number of officials would be required to disburse promised $1.5 billion aid per annum from USA and Friends of Pakistan. If this is the criteria, India with which USA has strategic cooperation in defence and economic fields which is twenty times more in volume, USA should need half of New Delhi to accommodate coordinating and disbursement staff. US Ambassador has sought sanction for 800 vehicles which will be in addition to existing fleet of 1100 private cars in use by Embassy staff in Islamabad. It is said that the fortified US Embassy close to PM secretariat will counter balance Rawalpindi based 111 Brigade. Under the garb of KLB, which is a step towards neo-colonisation of Pakistan, it is intended to enhance presence of US military contractors, immune from prosecution.
The US has purchased a large chunk of land in Sihala and has seemingly established a secret military training camp adjacent to police academy just a few km away from Islamabad and from Kahuta. It is being used to recruit retired army personnel preferably ex SSG at handsome salaries to work for US military. Monthly salaries range from $200 to $1200. Commandant of the Academy or any other person belonging to law enforcing agency could not enter the prohibited area. Sensitive instruments were implanted to monitor KRL and to gain intelligence on nuclear assets. It has now come to light that this unchecked facility was given to USA in 2003 under an unwritten agreement by Gen Musharraf to train the police.
A security firm has a warehouse in Islamabad which was involved in illegal arm trade. The warehouse, Kestral Logistics, worked as a sub contractor of Xe World. It imported heavy arms and ammunition for US Company for its illicit operation in Pakistan. The US rejected news on warehouse for storing arms. US Ambassador Anne Patterson and Richard Holbrooke too denied presence of Blackwater.
In 2006, Pakistan had signed an agreement with the US authorising Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) to enter Pakistan to hunt Osama bin Laden. At that time Gen McChrystal was head of JSOC. It was learnt in 2008 that the US had acquired huge chunk of land near Tarbela with a view to build a military base. Some reports say that 300 US military advisers are lodged in Tarbela and drones are also controlled from there. US Special Forces have been conducting joint exercises with our commandoes apart from imparting advanced training.
US military trainers favour tactics adopted by JSOC and are imparting training to Frontier Corps in Fort Balhissar Peshawar and in Warsak. On 23 February 2009, Pentagon revealed that over 70 American military advisers had been secretly working in Pakistan since long. It has now transpired that 100-member strong Special Forces unit is stationed in NWFP since 2008 to train FC in counter terrorism. Three US trainers died in a suicide attack in Lower Dir on 3 February 2010. TTP claimed responsibility and claimed that the killed foreigners belonged to Xe Worldwide.
Reportedly, US opened a JSOC in Balochistan where Marines are coming in via Islamabad. Marines as well as heavy contingent of Blackwater elements to the tune of 11000 have also been spotted in Balochistan, who in collaboration with BLA and BRA are mostly carrying out target killings. Four air bases in Balochistan had been leased to US military in September 2001 and these bases at Jacobabad, Pasni, Dalbaldin and Shamsi are still in their use. It is now an open secret that Shamsi airbase is under use by US drones where Blackwater was hired for loading hellfire missiles and 500 lbs laser guided bombs on Predators. Similar job is being performed at Jalalabad air base to strike targets in Pakistan. In the wake of intense pressure from people of Pakistan, CIA terminated the contract of terrorist group Blackwater Worldwide employed at Shamsi Base but is still using it in Balochistan under the name of Xe Services.
Blackwater has now spread its tentacles to Karachi under a different name. It has hired seven private houses in defence area and acquired hundreds of acres of land near Pataro in Sindh to launch agricultural research institute. There were reports of secret construction of operational facilities in Gharo in Sindh to serve as a base for 200 Marines and that sizeable numbers of American armoured carriers had arrived at Port Qasim, with 3000 Humvees awaiting dispatch.
Jeremy Scahill has revealed about a covert forward operation base run by JSOC in Karachi in which Blackwater is actively involved in planning and executing target assassination of suspected Taliban and Al-Qaeda. The outfit also helps in gathering intelligence and in drone attacks. Reportedly the militant wing of MQM has joined hands with Blackwater and former is making full use of it to serve its political ends.
Seymour M. Hersh suggested that it is easier and safer to remove separately stored arming system of nuclear systems from the soil of Pakistan. US intelligence agencies in various guises like Xe worldwide are reportedly developing techniques to disable arming system. Blackwater has begun to make diagrammatical drawings and video films of nuclear installations as well as available routes to help execute US plan to hijack nukes in one go.
While every second Pakistani is expressing its grave concern over presence of Blackwater, and even Robert Gates admitted its presence, ironically the Interior Minister is adamant that there is none and wants documentary proof. It is generally believed that while Musharraf regime allowed setting up of DynCorp in Islamabad, Hussain Haqqani and Rehman Malik are instrumental in facilitating entry of Blackwater in Pakistan.
Afghan resistance statement: "Can we call this reconciliation?"

After the London Conference, the Kabul surrogate administration farcically speaks of peace and reconciliation. Hamid Karzai, Head of the stooge administration, visited Saudi Arabia to request Saudi King Abdullah to mediate between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Kabul regime and, by extension, with the USA. However, if we ponder over the whole process of reconciliation, we see that it is no more than an eye-wash, designed to ostensibly show to the public of these countries who are against the war, that the power-that-be wants peace and an end to the current war. But, contrarily, Pentagon is at present making preparation for a new military operations in Helmand province, south Afghanistan. Similarly, they put forward conditions, which are tantamount to escalating the war rather than ending it. For example, they want Mujahideen to lay down arms; accept the Constitution and renounce violence. None can name this reconciliation.
Likewise, it is in condition that the Kabul stooge regime has no writ beyond the capital Kabul. Even in Kabul they are not safe. The audacious attack of Mujahideen on building of some important ministries, near the presidential palace in Kabul is an example of the military strength of the Mujahideen and the inability of the stooge regime to face the committed members of the Islamic Emirate.
According to International Council for Development and Security, the Islamic Emirate has influence in 80% of Afghanistan and with the passage of time, the influence is spreading. So the Kabul regime effort to call on the Islamic Emirate to surrender under the pseudo-name of reconciliation is a futile effort.
This is not the first time that the Kabul regime and the invading countries want to throw dust into the eyes of the public of the world by announcing reconciliation in words and, in practice, make preparation for war. Ironically, the Pentagon is trying to lure away files and ranks of the Islamic Emirate by offering them cash money rather than making an honest effort for peace based on ground realities and on realization of the natural rights of the Afghans. No doubt, by resorting to the old British formula divide and rule, the invading Americans will only prolong the war but will not end it.
The Islamic Emirate has curtains goals to achieve. They are: 1. Complete independence of the country. 2. Establishment of an Islamic system representing the wants and aspiration of the Afghan people. 3. Progress and prosperity of the country and people.
Our first priority is to achieve these goals through talks and negotiation. But if the invading powers in Afghanistan are not ready to give the Afghans their natural rights which is the right of independence and establishment of a government based on their aspirations and wants, then the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate are determined to carry on the fight until the realization of the said goals.
A US military contractor is believed to have been kidnapped in Iraq after an armed group released a video showing a man being held captive.
The video was released by a group calling itself Asaib Ahl al-Haq, or the League of the Righteous, just hours after the US defence department said that 60-year-old Issa T. Salomi had been missing since January 23.
In the video, which runs less than two minutes, he read out the group's demands for the release of detainees who had "resisted occupation" and "never been involved in any serious crime against their fellow innocent Iraqis".
The captive also called for the conviction of employees of US security firm Blackwater, since renamed as Xe Services, accused of killing unarmed Iraqi citizens in 2007.
"The second demand is to bring the proper justice and the proper punishment to those members of the Blackwater company that have committed unjustifiable crimes against innocent Iraqi citizens," he said.
"I also would like to relay the justifiable demand of the Iraqi Islamic resistance for the complete withdrawal from Iraq, so Iraq can become a sovereign nation."
Hostage 'deal'
Asaib Ahl al-Haq was believed to be responsible for the kidnapping of Peter Moore, a British IT expert, and his four bodyguards in May 2007.
Moore was released last year, but three of the bodyguards have been confirmed killed and the fourth is still missing.
A senior leader of Asaib Ahl al-Haq was reported as telling the Reuters news agency on Saturday that the abducted contractor, whom he did not name, was seized because the government was not keeping a promise to free the group's supporters from prison.
Such a deal was widely believed to have been behind the release of Moore in December, despite Iraqi and British government denials of a link.
"The government is carrying out many violations against us," the leader was quoted as telling Reuters.
If the kidnapping of Salomi confirmed, it will be the first of a foreigner in Iraq since the group took Moore.

We have known that the System of Democracy or "Religion of Democracy" had been developed by "America" together with the other zionist/crusaders alliances who are in power. Besides that, they also invented the system of pluralism, liberalism, communism, socialism and capitalism to support that religion of democracy. They endavored to build a world civilization with that liberalist system and capitalist economy. However, what has happened is that, they have failed to build a World Civilization that is successful and prosperous. On the contrary, they all have ruined the life on this earth. From the issue of unemployment to other issues of social life, in fact even in the issue of environment such as the conservation of nature and its natural resources, all have been ruined by them. These are the facts that are happening when the kafirs are in power.
Compare it to the time when Islam was in power, there was no unemployment, in fact the wealth in the Baitul Mal was accumulating as there was no more Muslims who was in need of them. Conservations of nature and the natural resources were maintained and preserved, there was no destruction on earth. In short, the "Baldatun Thoyyibatun wa robbun Ghofur" (Saba' (34): 15) had really come into being. Those were the facts that happened when the Islamic Ummah were in power.
In this respect, let's understand the verses of Allah SWT below:
[22:39] Permission (to fight) has been given to those who are being fought, because they are wronged. And verily, Allah is most powerful to give them victory,
[22:40] (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes without right,- (for no cause) except that they say, "our Lord is Allah." Were it not that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been demolished monasteries, churches, synagogues, and masjids, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid His (cause) - for verily Allah is full of Strength, Exalted in Might, (able to enforce His Will). (At Taubah (22): 39-40)
In the verse 39, it is clear that the Islamic ummah are permitted to fight because they have been wronged (oppressed, tyrannized) by the kafir people who are in power.
In the verse 40, let's understand the kalimah"Were it not that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, there would surely have been pulled down monasteries, churches, synagogues, and mosques, in which the name of Allah is commemorated in abundant measure. Allah will certainly aid those who aid His (cause)."
It is plain clear from these verses that if Allah SWT does not impede the cruelty of the kafirs who are in power, then the result would be that all the existing houses of worship would be demoslihed and destroyed including the masjids where the names of Allah are mentioned a lot.
So by what mean does Allah SWT impede those cruelty of the kafirs? The answer is by "permission to fight" given to the Islamic ummah in order to raise Dienullah.
To sum up, in the Qur'anic verses 22:39-40; by Him giving permission to fight, it is purely for the sake of putting a stop to the cruelty of the kafirs which has ruined the life of worshipping Allah SWT on this earth.
Now, let's also understand the verse of Allah SWT below:
"By Allah's will they (the forces of Thalut) routed them (the forces of Jalut); and Daud slew Jalut (in the battle); and Allah gave him power and wisdom and taught him whatever (else) He willed. And were it not that Allah checks one set of people by means of another, the earth would indeed be full of mischief: But Allah is full of bounty to all the worlds."Al-Baqara 2:251)
In the above verse, it is clear that the forces of Thalut had defeated the forces of Jalut by the will of Allah SWT, the same goes with Daud (David) as His "Battle Commander", he managed to kill Jalut (Goliath) by His will. This is Allah's way of impeding the cruelty of one set of people (at that time it was Jalut) through the forces of Thalut and Daud as His "battle commanders."
Supposing that Allah SWT does not stop the cruelty of one set of people (the kafirs) by means of another (the Islamic ummah) this earth would surely be damaged. Natural resources would be continually "exploited" in order to gratify the needs of the kafirs' carnal appetites without caring for the conservation of nature and environment.
The conclusion of the Qur'anic Surah 2:251; by "Him giving permission to fight", it is solely for preventing destructions on the surface of this earth resulting from the cruelty of the kafirs.

martyrdom operation attack kills a dozen American invading terrorists in Khost, destroys 2 U.S. tanks There is a recent report from the Khost province that on later Saturday morning (today), a brave Mujahid of the Islamic Emirate, Musa, resident of this Province carried out a martyr car bomb attack on the U.S. invaders military convoy of tanks, destroying two of their tanks and killing and wounding a dozen U.S invading terrorists in the Zankhel area of the Manduzu district in Khost province.
The convoy of the U.S invading terrorists was traveling on Gardiz road when the Mujahid slammed his vehicle filled with 1000 kilo grams explosives into their tanks, said the report, adding the road had been blacked off and the traffic movement halted by the Americans who had called in the helicopter to evacuate the dead and the wounded from the explosion site. It is, however, worth remembering that 20 CIA agents were killed and scores wounded in a martyr bomb attack on Dec. 30, 2009 in this province, while the U.S invaders military announced that 7 CIA employees had been killed and 6 wounded. Kandahar airfield comes under missile attack Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate on Friday launched missile attack on the Kandahar airfield which is ranked second largest base of the U.S and Nato invading terrorists. As US and British troops prepare to attack the town of Marjah in Afghanistan’s Helmand Province, military commanders and the media are openly comparing the operation to the November 2004 siege of Fallujah, one of the bloodiest war crimes of the Iraq war.
The operation in central Helmand province, long an area of intense resistance to the US-led occupation, will constitute the largest military offensive since Washington invaded the country in October 2001. At least 15,000 troops are expected to lay siege to the Helmand river valley town, which has 80,000 inhabitants and is said by the US military to be a stronghold of the Taliban.
A total of 125,000 people live in the district around Marjah, which is an agricultural center 350 miles west of Kabul. The population has been swelled by Afghans fleeing villages occupied by US Marines last summer, following President Barack Obama’s order shortly after he took office to send 21,000 more troops into Afghanistan.
US Marines, frustrated and enraged over casualties suffered at the hands of an unseen enemy who is able to attack and then blend back into the local population, will be unleashed against the town in a violent military assault, with predictable results.
Brigadier General Larry Nicholson, commander of the US Marines in southern Afghanistan, spelled out the character of the upcoming offensive. Those found in Marjah would have three options. "One is to stay and fight and probably die," he said. "The second one is to make peace with his government and reintegrate." The third would be to attempt to escape, "In which case we’ll probably have some people out there waiting on them as well."
"We're going to go in big," said Nicholson, commander of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade. "I’m not looking for a fair fight," he added.
In a highly unusual move, the US command has publicly announced plans for the offensive. "It’s a little unconventional to do it this way, but it gives everybody a chance to think through what they’re going to do before suddenly in the dark of night they’re hit with an offensive," said General Stanley McChrystal, the senior US commander in Afghanistan.
The stated intention of revealing the target of the upcoming offensive is to allow civilians to flee before the Marines move in. It also provides a preemptive alibi for the US offensive by painting those who fail to heed the warning as die-hard Taliban who deserve to be killed.
Stratfor, a military-intelligence web site with close ties to the US state apparatus, reported Thursday that "the assault is likely to include the cordoning off of the area, so many of the fighters dedicated to its defense will probably be forced to fight to the death or surrender."
The article continued: "With assaults on Fallujah and Ramadi in Iraq under their belts, the Marines are experienced with this sort of urban assault."
What is the record of urban assaults of "this sort"?
The Marine assault on Fallujah in November 2004 reduced most of the city of 300,000 people to rubble, as warplanes dropped thousands of tons of explosives and helicopter gunships and battle tanks fired missiles into buildings and strafed the area with cannon fire.
The US military command claimed to have killed 2,000 "insurgents," but the real death toll remains unknown. Civilians who remained in the town were subjected to the same bombardment. Some were shot to death during the door-to-door raids that followed, and others were killed while fleeing. Wounded fighters were summarily executed, and medical facilities were targeted for military attack. All those in the city were denied food, water and electricity for more than 10 days.
The operation was a vicious exercise in collective punishment against the population of Fallujah for the killing there of four Blackwater mercenaries and the city’s protracted resistance to foreign occupation. It embodied the criminality of the entire war and was characterized by multiple and gross violations of the laws of war.
If American military commanders are to be believed, a similar operation is being prepared in Afghanistan, and for similar reasons. The town of Marjah is to be turned into a killing field.
As in Fallujah, vengeance plays a role. US military forces have seen a steady escalation in casualties over the past year, while the CIA suffered a humiliating attack at the end of December that left seven of its operatives dead on the Afghan border.
In Afghanistan, as in Iraq, the US military command sees value in making an example of a population center known as a center of resistance to occupation, sending a message to the entire country that such resistance is futile and will be met with slaughter and destruction.
This bloodletting is officially justified in the name of a never-ending struggle against terrorism. Behind the propaganda, the driving force of the war in Afghanistan, like the war in Iraq, is the attempt by America’s ruling elite to counter the crisis of US capitalism through the use of force and the seizure of strategic positions in the Persian Gulf and Central Asia, both centers of vast energy reserves.
A year ago, when Barack Obama entered the White House, there existed hope among broad layers of the American people that his inauguration would turn such words as Fallujah, Abu Ghraib, Guantánamo, Blackwater, torture and rendition into the lexicon of a dark and shameful, but closed, chapter in US history.
The preparation of the Marjah offensive only underscores that, far from being ended, the crimes of the Bush administration are continuing and escalating under the Democratic president.
Today there are more US troops deployed abroad in colonial-style wars and occupations than under Bush, and the killing has spread from Iraq and Afghanistan to Pakistan and Yemen. The Obama administration is seeking $322 billion for the two ongoing wars and occupations, a figure that will doubtless be swelled by further demands for "supplemental" funding.
The supposed candidate of "hope" and "change" has emerged ever more clearly as the hand-picked agent of sections of the political establishment and military-intelligence complex that wanted to effect certain tactical changes in policy, while continuing to employ militarism abroad and wage a relentless assault on the working class at home.
American working people cannot accept a new round of war crimes carried out in their name. The demand for the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of all US and other foreign troops from Afghanistan must be joined with a political offensive against the Obama administration and the financial oligarchy that it defends.

1920 Revolution Brigades, an element of Consolidated Commission for Authorizing Factions claimed responsibility for targeting American occupation convoy with an IED in western Baghdad. The attack led destruction of one enemy wheel, killing and injuring its crew. The jihad faction also shared video of the operation carried out at 4th of February, 2010.
A top Egyptian cleric has issued a fatwa forbidding use of the popular social networking site Facebook. Muslims using such sites must be considered "sinners" said the religious edict's author, sheikh Abdel Hamid al-Atras. Statistics show divorce rates have rise since the advent of Facebook and it has sharply increased marital infidelity, he claimed.
"It's an instrument that destroys the family because it encourages spouses to have relations with other people which break Islamic sharia law, said al-Atrash, quoted by pan-Arab daily Al-Sharq al-Awsat.
He is the former head of the fatwa commission at Cairo's Al-Azhar University, one of the highest authorities in Sunni Islam.
"While one or other of the spouses is at work, the other is chatting online with someone else, wasting their time and flouting the Sharia.
"This endangers the Muslim family," said al-Atrash.
The fatwa followed the publication earlier this week of a study claiming one out of five of divorces in Egypt had been caused by liaisons begun on Facebook or other social networking sites.
Like satellite TV, social networking sites are a "double-edged sword", al-Atrash said.
"While they permit the spread of Islam, they allow people forbidden love and relations.
"That is why whoever uses such websites must be considered a sinner," he concluded.More..

Will recent successes in fighting internet controls be enough to stave off tyranny?
The focus is back on Internet censorship this week as a pair of articles from Time Magazine and The New York Times came out almost simultaneously advocating for licences to operate web sites. These articles were skillfully skewered by Paul Joseph Watson as lame attempts to shore up a disintegrating establishment media in the face of a blogosphere that is increasingly replacing them.
The articles follow on calls by Craig Mundie—Microsoft's chief research and strategy officer—for an Internet licencing system. Introducing the idea, he said "We need a kind of World Health Organization for the Internet." Evidently unaware of the ongoing investigation into the WHO's role in manufacturing the H1N1 pandemic hoax to line the pockets of Big Pharma, Mundie added that an international Internet authority should be given the same kind of authority that the WHO has in dealing with a pandemic. "When there is a pandemic, it organizes the quarantine of cases. We are not allowed to organize the systematic quarantine of machines that are compromised." These calls are worrying because they represent only the latest instance of influential figures proposing increasingly tyrannical controls on free speech on the Internet.
The Obama presidency has seen an increase in hype over cybersecurity threats, with the influential CSIS "think tank" having written white papers proposing cybersecurity as a key issue for the 44th president. As we reported last July, CSIS argued for "minimium standards for securing cyberspace" because "voluntary action is not enough."
Shortly after Obama took office last year, Senator Jay Rockefeller introduced a Senate bill (S.773) that would give the president the power to "declare a cybersecurity emergency" and shut down the Internet. The bill would also require network administrators in the private sector receive licencing from the federal government after taking a federally-mandated certificagtion program. During Committee hearings, Rockefeller went so far as to say that it would have been better if the Internet had never been invented.
In November of last year it was reported that an Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) being negotiated by the world's leading economies would force ISPs to cut off subscribers who were found to have shared copyrighted content on more than two occasions. Recent reports indicate that this proposal was not discussed at an ACTA meeting last month, but the so-called "three-strikes rule" has already passed in France.
Earlier this year, it was revealed that Obama's information czar, Cass Sunstein, has blamed the blogosphere for spreading anti-government sentiments and advocated that the government actually employ people to infiltrate online communities and spread information favorable to the government in an effort to destabilize them. As remarkable as such a proposal may seem from a high-ranking government official, it is only one aspect of an official Pentagon strategy to fight the net as if it were an enemy weapons system.
All of these proposals and numerous other stories we have reported on the past (e.g.here and here) represent only the latest attempts to stifle free speech on the Internet. Although groups like the Electronic Frontier Foundation have been fighting such moves for a long time, the explosive power of the online community in derailing the carbon eugenics agenda and exposing the Federal Reserve has awakened many to the nascent medium's potential...and its value. The value of the Internet is directly tied to freedom of speech, a principle that is opposed solely by the establishment media who thrived for decades in a virtually competition-free era before the rise of the Internet. As one commenter on the Time Magazine puff piece calling for Internet licencing notes, "There is NO grass roots movement anywhere calling for government intervention in the internet. It is not broken. It works too well, that is a problem for tyrants."
As with everything related to the Internet, however, the collaborative efforts of concerned citizen in opposing Internet censorship is paying off in positive developments. The newfound awareness of the Internet's power and importance is raising awareness that online liberties are in fact fundamental rights that cannot be taken away. Even China was forced to back down from an Internet licencing scheme (exactly like that proposed at Davos) because of public pressure. A draconian Australian law that would have required all online political comments to be accompanied by the commenters full name and address is likely to be repealed by the Attorney General.
Whether or not these individual successes in fighting back the approach of online tyranny will ultimately derail the establishment's agenda remains to be seen. It depends largely on public outcry over the loss of online liberties becoming a genuine grassroots movement.

Israeli report claims $2 billion stolen from Palestinians by Jonathan Cook

Over the past four decades Israel has defrauded Palestinians working inside Israel of more than US$2 billion (Dh7.4bn) by deducting from their salaries contributions for welfare benefits to which they were never entitled, Israeli economists revealed this week.
A new report, "State Robbery", says the "theft" continued even after the Palestinian Authority was established in 1994 and part of the money was supposed to be transferred to a special fund on behalf of the workers.
According to information supplied by Israeli officials, most of the deductions from the workers’ pay were invested in infrastructure projects in the Palestinian territories – a presumed reference to the massive state subsidies accorded to the settlements.
After the recent easing of restrictions on entering Israel under the "economic peace" promised by Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, nearly 50,000 Palestinians from the West Bank are working in Israel and continue to have such contributions docked from their pay.
Complicit in the deception, the report adds, is the Histadrut, the Israeli labour federation, which levies a monthly fee on Palestinian workers, even though they are not entitled to membership and are not represented in labour disputes.
"This is a clear-cut case of theft from Palestinian workers on a grand scale," said Shir Hever, a Jerusalem-based economist and one of the authors of the report. "There are no reasons for Israel to delay in returning this money either to the workers or their beneficiaries."
The deductions started being made in 1970, three years after the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories began, when Palestinian workers started to enter Israel in significant numbers, most of them employed as manual labourers in the agriculture and construction industries.
Typically, the workers lose a fifth of their salary in deductions that are supposed to cover old age payments, unemployment allowance, disability insurance, child benefits, trade union fees, pension fund, holiday and sick pay, and health insurance. In practice, however, the workers are entitled only to disability payments in case of work accidents and are insured against loss of work if their employer goes bankrupt.
According to the report, compiled by two human rights groups, the Alternative Information Centre and Kav La’Oved, only a fraction of the total contributions – less than eight per cent – was used to award benefits to Palestinian workers. The rest was secretly transferred to the finance ministry.
The Israeli organisations assess that the workers were defrauded of at least $2.25bn in today’s prices, in what they describe as a minimum and "very conservative" estimate of the misappropriation of the funds. Such a sum represents about 10 per cent of the PA’s annual budget.
The authors also note that they excluded from their calculations two substantial groups of Palestinian workers – those employed in the Jewish settlements and those working in Israel’s black economy – because figures were too hard to obtain.
Mr Hever said the question of whether the bulk of the deductions – those for national insurance – had been illegally taken from the workers was settled by the Israeli High Court back in 1991. The judges accepted a petition from the flower growers’ union that the government should return about $1.5 million in contributions from Palestinian workers in the industry.
"The legal precedent was set then and could be used to reclaim the rest of these excessive deductions," he said.
At the height of Palestinian participation in the Israeli labour force, in the early 1990s, as many as one in three Palestinian workers was dependent on Israeli employers.
Israel continued requiring contributions from Palestinian workers after the creation of the Palestinian Authority in 1994, arguing that it needed to make the deductions to ensure Israeli workers remained competitive.
However, the report notes that such practices were supposed to have been curbed by the Oslo process. Israel agreed to levy an "equalisation tax" – equivalent to the excessive contributions paid by Palestinians – a third of which would be invested in a fund that would later be available to the workers.
In fact, however, the Israeli State Comptroller, a government watchdog official, reported in 2003 that only about a tenth of the money levied on the workers had actually been invested in the fund.
The finance ministry has admitted that most of the money taken from the workers was passed to Israeli military authorities in the Palestinian territories to pay for "infrastructure programmes". Hannah Zohar, the director of Kav La’Oved who co-authored the report, said she believed that the ministry was actually referring to the construction of illegal settlements.
The report is also highly critical of the Histadrut, Israel’s trade union federation, which it accuses of grabbing "a piece of the pie" by forcing Palestinian workers to pay a monthly "organising fee" to the union since 1970, even though Palestinians are not entitled to membership.
Despite the Histadrut’s agreement with its Palestinian counterpart in 2008 to repay the fees, only 20 per cent was returned, leaving $30m unaccounted for.
The Histadrut was also implicated in another "rip-off", said Mr Hever. It agreed in 1990 to the Israeli construction industry’s demand that Palestinian workers pay an extra two per cent tax to promote the training of recent Jewish immigrants, most of them from the former Soviet Union.
Mr Hever said that in effect the Palestinian labourers were required to "subsidise the training of workers meant to replace them". The funds were never used for the stated purpose but were mainly issued as grants to the families of Israeli workers.
In one especially cynical use of the funds, the report notes, the money was spent on portable stoves for soldiers involved in Israel’s three-week attack on Gaza last year.
In response, the finance ministry called the report "incorrect and misleading", and the Histadrut claimed it was "full of lies". However, neither provided rebuttals of the report’s allegations or its calculations.
Mr Hever said the government body responsible for making the deductions, the department of payments, had initially refused to divulge any of its figures, but had partly relented after some statistics were made available through leaks from its staff.
Assef Saeed, a senior official in the Palestinian Authority’s labour ministry, said the PA was keen to discuss the issue of the deductions, but that talks were difficult because of the lack of contacts between the two sides.

The Bangsamoro people are almost pushed to the wall and they do not have any more places to go to except to do anything within their own capacity and limitation.
In August 2008, armed conflict between the Philippine military and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front broke out in the provinces of North Cotabato, Maguindanao and even in Basilan due to the aborted signing of the MOA-AD which was already initialed by both panels but the government refused to sign it. As a result of the conflict, more than half million innocent civilians were displaced while some of them were even rendered homeless.
The draft of the government on comprehensive compact offering the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) for the MILF is an old tactics of the government to renege from what were previously agreed upon.
“The Muslims in Western Mindanao are already fed up of the government's delaying tactics in solving the Mindanao problem. Perhaps it is now high time for the entire Bangsamoro people to wake up and prepare themselves to go to war should the government keep on reneging from previous agreement and continue fooling around,” the teacher said.
He added that “for almost 40 years now, the Bangsamoro people are trying to achieve peace by talking with the Philippine government. But it seems that the government is continuously fooling the Bangsamoro people while at the same time receiving huge amount from donor countries to help the ravaged Mindanao.”
“Enough is enough,” another civilian said.
“We cannot anymore afford to swallow the government's treatment for the Muslims in Mindanao. It is our message to the Philippine government that it should change its attitude if, indeed, it is wants for peace in Mindanao.
With 47 journalists in jail, Iran sets notorious records

New York, February 3, 2010—Iranian authorities are now holding at least 47 journalists in prison, more than any single country has imprisoned since 1996, according to a new survey by the Committee to Protect Journalists. While many of the detainees were arrested in the aftermath of the disputed June presidential election, CPJ’s survey found that authorities are continuing to wage an aggressive campaign to round up independent and opposition journalists. At least 26 journalists have been jailed in the last two months alone, CPJ found.
The number of jailed journalists is the highest CPJ has recorded in a single country since December 1996, when it documented 78 imprisonments in Turkey.
"The relentlessness of the press crackdown in Iran demonstrates that authorities continue to fear new ideas and information," said CPJ Executive Director Joel Simon. "Our goal is not simply to document the brutality, but to let the government know that the world is watching."

CPJ’s findings are based on a census of imprisoned Iranian journalists conducted on February 1. The survey is a snapshot of those incarcerated on that date. It does not include more than 50 other journalists in Iran who have been imprisoned and released on bail over the last several months. Five of those now in jail were detained prior to the 2009 crackdown.
The current detainees include internationally known figures such as Emadeddin Baghi, the author and human rights defender, and Mashallah Shamsolvaezin, an award-winning editor and press advocate. They also include journalists such as Mohammad Davari, an editor who helped expose prisoner abuse at the KahrizakDetentionCenter, and Shiva Nazar Ahari, a human rights reporter who has been jailed twice in the last eight months.

In most cases, authorities have filed vague antistate charges such as "propagation against the regime," insulting authorities, and disrupting public order. But many cases are shrouded in secrecy, without even formal charges being disclosed.
Some detainees have already been sentenced to lengthy prison terms, lashes, internal exile, and lifetime bans on writing and other social and political activities. One is on death row. The cases of many others are pending. At least two face heresy charges that, upon conviction, would bring the death penalty.
In light of the Iranian government’s ongoing crackdown, CPJ will conduct monthly surveys of journalists imprisoned in Iran. (CPJ normally conducts a worldwide survey of jailed journalists each December.)
Iran is now far and away the world’s leading jailer of journalists. China was holding 24 journalists behind bars when CPJ conducted its worldwide census on December 1, 2009. CPJ research shows the number in China has remained stable since that time.

Haitian Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive said on Tuesday that the death toll of the devastating earthquake that shook the country on Jan. 12, rose to 200,000.
Bellerive gave the figure during a report presentation at the Senate and he added that the figure does not include those victims that still are under the rubble and those who were buried by their relatives. During his report, Bellerive also said that the structure of the Haitian government has to change in order to face the crisis aroused by the magnitude-7.0 earthquake. 60 percent of the gross domestic product of Haiti was destroyed in 35 seconds, Bellerive said.

Bomb in Khost kills 3 puppet border police terrorists, injures some About three puppet border police terrorists were killed and a few wounded on Wednesday when they encountered a landmine planted by the Mujahideen on their way to the outpost in Ali Sher district of Khost. According to the report, the incident took place near Babrak Tana which had been targeted by mortar shells fired by the Mujahideen last night inflicting losses and casualties on the enemy but the details of the casualties are not clear yet. Missiles fired by suspected US drones have killed at least 17 people and wounded many more in Pakistan, residents and security officials say.
Officials said the missiles rained down on Dattakhel village in the Degan area of North Waziristan, part of Pakistan's semi-autonomous tribal region near the Afghan border, on Tuesday.
They said the missiles struck suspected fighters' hideouts and a training centre.
Al Jazeera's Kamal Hyder, reporting from Islamabad, the Pakistani capital, said there were reports that up to 19 missiles had been fired.
"This would be the first time you get a co-ordinated attack by such a large group of drones since the attacks against targets inside Pakistan began.
"Seventeen people have been reported killed. However, there is mounting fear that the death toll could be at least over two dozen or even cross 30."
Locals were digging dead and wounded out of the debris.

At least nine people were killed in a suspected US drone attack in the same area on Friday.
Missiles hit a compound allegedly used by Taliban fighters in Muhammad Khel, a town in North Waziristan.
The identities of those killed in the attack were not immediately known.
A series of drone raids have been carried out this month in North Waziristan, home to fighters loyal to the Taliban, al-Qaeda and the Haqqani network.
The US never confirms drone attacks, but its forces in neighbouring Afghanistan and the Central Intelligence Agency are the only ones known to use the unmanned aircraft capable of firing missiles.
The attacks have often resulted in civilian deaths, stirring anger among Pakistanis and even bolstering support for the Taliban and anti-US sentiment.

Al-Shabab Mujahideen paraded through the streets of Somalia's capital Mogadishu, after the Sheikh and Mujahid Mukhtar Robow Abu Mansour (Hafidhullah) said on Friday that Al-Shabab is ready to send reinforcement to our Muslim brothers in Yemen to fight against the aggression of American Zionist Crusaders and their Stooges, and he urged other Muslims to follow suit.
"We tell our Muslim brothers in Yemen that we will cross the water between us and reach your place to assist you fight the enemy of Allah," Sheikh Abu Mansour announced on Friday at the graduation ceremony for the hundreds of newly trained Mujahideen in north Mogadishu.
"Today you see what is happening in Yemen, the enemy of Allah is destroying your Muslim brothers, I call upon the young men in the Muslim and Arab lands to join the fight there." Abu Mansour (may Allah Protect him) added.
Bethlehem – Ma'an – Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on at least two targets in the southern Gaza Strip overnight, witnesses said and the Israeli military confirmed.
Three Palestinians were reportedly wounded and three others reported missing shortly after six separate strikes, which targeted the Yasser Arafat International Airport in Dahaniya and a tunnel along the Gaza-Egypt border.
Israeli forces launched the strikes "in response for the attempted naval attacks in southern Israel and recent rocket attacks," an Israeli military spokesman said in a statement over the phone.
The official added that the army confirmed direct hits on both targets, which he alleged included a tunnel used for smuggling weapons and a "terror tunnel" on the border meant for carrying out attacks in Israel.
"The IDF holds the Hamas terrorist organization responsible for maintaining the calm in the communities in southern Israel and will respond to any attempts to disrupt the calm," the spokesman told Ma'an.
A homemade projectile landed in an open area in the Eshkol Regional Council in southern Israel on Tuesday afternoon, Israeli media reported. Residents heard a loud blast at around 3pm and a Color Red siren was sounded, the Hebrew-language daily daily Yedioth Ahronoth reported. No damage or injuries were reported.
On Monday, two explosive devices were reportedly found on separate beaches in southern Israel. Israeli security sources linked the discoveries to an announcement by a coalition of Palestinian operatives who told Ma'an they launched eight shells at the port of Ashkelon between 29-30 January.
That attack was said to be in response to the assassinations of three prominent Fatah operatives in Nablus in late December, which Israel said was in retaliation for the shooting death of a West Bank settler leader.
